U.S. Energy Department raises forecast for Kazakhstan's liquid hydrocarbons in 2025-2026The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has increased its 2025 production forecast for Kazakhstan’s liquid hydrocarbons while keeping its 2026 estimate unchanged, according to its April monthly report.The EIA now projects Kazakhstan’s liquid hydrocarbons output at 2.02 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025, up from 2 million bpd in its March forecast. For 2026, the outlook remains steady at 2.08 million bpd.In the first quarter of 2025, production is expected to reach 2.07 million bpd, revised up from March’s 2.04 million bpd. The second quarter is projected at 1.98 million bpd (down from 1.99 million bpd), while the third quarter sees an upward adjustment to 1.99 million bpd (from 1.95 million bpd). The fourth-quarter forecast holds at 2.02 million bpd.The EIA maintained its 2026 annual forecast at 2.08 million bpd, with quarterly estimates showing minor revisions only in Q1 (2.08 million bpd, up from 2.07 million bpd). Projections for Q2–Q4 2026 remain identical to March’s report, at 2.09 million bpd, 2.06 million bpd, and 2.1 million bpd, respectively.Kazakhstan’s liquid hydrocarbons production averaged 1.9 million bpd in 2024, with Q1 at 2 million bpd, Q2–Q3 at 1.9 million bpd, and Q4 at 1.82 million bpd.
