Tau-Ken Samruk seeks to regain priority rights for REM deposits developmentTau-Ken Samruk JSC in collaboration with the government and members of parliament, aims to legally restore its priority rights to develop rare earth metal (REM) deposits, Tau-Ken Samruk CEO Nariman Absametov told Interfax-Kazakhstan."We recognize the strategic importance of rare earth metals. Therefore, alongside the government and several parliament members, we are working on potentially reinstating Tau-Ken Samruk’s priority rights. However, this requires amendments to legislation. This effort is currently underway with the Ministry of Industry and Construction, but no decisions have been made yet," Absametov told the agency on the sidelines of the MINEX Kazakhstan forum on Wednesday.Tau-Ken Samruk JSC was established in 2009 to consolidate the state’s mining assets and is part of the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund.
