Unemployment rate in Kazakhstan was 4.7% at the end of 2024The unemployment rate in Kazakhstan   was 4.7% by the end of 2024, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.."The employment rate for the population aged 15 and over was 65% in 2024, for the labour force - 95.3%. The unemployment rate (according to the methodology of the International Labour Organisation) was 4.7%. The number of unemployed was 449,800 people," the report said.The office added that the share of NEET young people, who are not working and not in education or vocational training, was 6.5%.At the end of December 2024, according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan, 57,400 people applied to employment agencies as job seekers.It is noted that 50,700 citizens were provided with employment assistance, 2,800 people were sent for vocational training or retraining, for continuing education, 1,700 people took part in community service.According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate remained stable at 4.7%.At the end of December 2024, 191,900 people were officially registered as unemployed with employment agencies.The unemployment rate for young people aged 15-34 was 3.1%.
