Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah stated that Jordan is engaged in direct dialogue with the United States to address any challenges that may arise due to the new customs duties. He emphasized that the national economy is strong and resilient, with the Kingdom possessing various tools and options to overcome emerging challenges—whether in supporting the industrial sector, diversifying markets, or strengthening the local industry’s share. During a meeting with the industrial sector on Sunday, Qudah highlighted Jordan’s distinguished relations with the United States and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to reciprocity and pursuing what serves its national interest. While respecting agreements with various economic blocs, particularly Arab ones, he emphasized that Jordan does not intend to impose customs duties on any country, stating, “Our goal is to expand Jordanian exports in foreign markets.” (ICE AMMAN)
