Retail trade in Kazakhstan grew by 4.7% in JanuaryRetail trade in Kazakhstan saw a 4.7% increase compared to January -February 2024 reaching a total of 2.786 trillion tenge, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms reported.Retail sales of goods by commercial enterprises increased by 1.7%.The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade is 27.2%, non-food products - 72.8%.Compared to January -February 2024, the sales volume of food products increased by 4.5%, non-food products by 4.7%.As of March 1, 2025, retail businesses held goods worth 1.525 trillion tenge, in stock, which is enough to cover 69 days of sales.Retail activity during January -February 2025 was primarily concentrated in major urban centers. Almaty led with (31.5%), followed by Astana at (13%), of Karaganda (8.5%) and East Kazakhstan (5.7%) regions. (ICE ALMATY)
