Kazakh government allocates 6.5 bln tenge for access roads to KIA plant in KostanayPrime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov has signed a resolution providing for the allocation of 6.5 billion tenge for the construction of transport infrastructure in the Kostanay industrial zone, in particular for the KIA car plant, the government press service reported."The government has allocated more than 6.5 billion tenge from the reserve for the construction of transport infrastructure to the Kostanay industrial zone. The decision to this effect was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov," the report said.The construction of transport infrastructure in the industrial zone will create the necessary conditions for the effective functioning of all the projects being implemented, and new access roads and railways will ensure uninterrupted logistics, accelerate the supply of raw materials and facilitate the transport of finished products to domestic and foreign markets.The KIA car plant under construction is one of the largest automotive projects. The design capacity of the plant is about 70,000 cars per year. The investor has allocated funds in the amount of 90 billion tenge.At present, construction and installation works are being carried out and utilities are being connected, involving more than 500 people. In total, the project provides for the creation of 1,500 jobs.The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in October 2025. The plant will operate on the full cycle principle, including welding, painting and assembly of cars.Currently five projects have been launched in the industrial zone of the city of Kostanay.
