On Wednesday, following a two-day session the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) announced that it had decided to keep the interest rates unchanged, with the reference rate at 5.75 %. Such a decision had been expected by analysts, however, the prevailing view is that we are getting closer to cutting the cost of money, a scenario suggested by a number of factors, including current bond quotations and an anticipated decline in inflation.
