DANANTARA OPEN TO BACKING 3 MILLION AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM IN INDONESIA
Danantara, Indonesia's second sovereign wealth fund, is open to supporting President Prabowo Subianto's ambitious program to build 3 million affordable houses annually. Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait is tasked with overseeing the program and attracting investors. Launched two months ago, Danantara will receive US$20 billion in initial capital to invest in strategic projects. However, the fund's boss, Rosan Roeslani, emphasized that any project must meet Danantara's criteria, including investment return, job creation, and industrialization. The housing program aims to construct 2 million affordable houses in rural areas and 1 million homes in cities each year. Danantara, projected to be one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds with over US$900 billion in assets under management, is currently evaluating the feasibility of backing this initiative. Rosan highlighted the importance of investment-ready projects with all necessary permits in place.Source: https://jakartaglobe.id/business/danantara-open-to-backing-3-million-affordable-housing-program (ICE GIACARTA)
