ALLEGRO LOOKS FOR WAY TO DEAL WITH INPOST

Jakub Kłoczewiak, Chief Operations Officer at Allegro, Poland’s leading online e-commerce platform, responsible for the Allegro Delivery service, has said that Allegro’s goal is to reduce its reliance on InPost, which is the most frequently chosen delivery service provider by consumers shopping on Allegro. As noted by the executive, the Allegro Delivery service was launched less than nine months ago and it is developing at a rapid pace. “After partnering up with DHL, we currently operate 17,000 automated parcel machines, and the figure is likely to reach 27,000 at the end of the year,” he added. Commenting on the matter, Wood & Company analyst Łukasz Wachełko has said that it is difficult to say exactly what is the overall objective, i.e. forcing InPost to reduce rates or encouraging InPost’s competitors to work more closely together by offering the hope of dethroning the current market leader.
