E-COMMERCE INCREASINGLY POPULAR
The latest statistics compiled by PwC indicate that if in the pandemic year 2020 e-commerce sales totalled PLN83bn, the figure reached PLN140bn in 2024 and it is projected to grow by more than 8 percent this year to PLN152bn, subsequently rising to PLN165bn in 2026, PLN178bn in the following year and as much as PLN192bn in 2028. Commenting on the matter, Kacper Skoczylas, Marketing Director at Shoper.pl, has said that the upward trend is driven primarily by consumers’ growing trust in online shopping as well as technological and logistics development. Still, as indicated by the expert, constraints to e-commerce growth include economic uncertainty, inflation as well as limited purchasing power of consumers. (ICE VARSAVIA)
