KUWAIT UPSTREAM OIL PROJECT EXPECTED TO BE WORTH $97M

The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) project to develop a new effluent water injection network is expected to have a budget of KD30m ($97m)Currently, the budget stands at around KD30m, but there are ongoing discussions about extra works that may be added to the project at a later date.The latest bid deadline that has been set by KOC for the project is 13 April.Due to the ongoing discussions about the scope of the project, the bid deadline is expected to be extended.Field visits for project sites in the North Kuwait area were scheduled on 18-19 March.Effluent water injection or water flooding is a secondary hydrocarbons recovery technique where produced water is injected into a well’s formation under high pressure and temperature conditions to recover more of the oil initially in place.
