GREECE: TRADE DEFICIT INCREASED BY 18.7% IN NOVEMBER 2024
The country's trade deficit posted a 18.7 percent rise in November 2024 as a percentage increase in imports and a decrease in exports was recorded.More specifically, according to Hellenic Statistical Authority's report released recently, the total value of imports in November 2024 amounted to 7,205.6 million euros in comparison with 6,983.7 million euros in November 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 3.2%.The total value of exports, in November 2024 amounted to 4,024.6 million euros in comparison with 4,304.3 million euros in November 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 6.5%.The deficit of the trade balance, in November 2024 amounted to 3,181.0 million euros in comparison with 2,679.4 million euros in November 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 18.7%.The total value of imports, for the 11-month period from January to November 2024 amounted to 77,379.3 million euros in comparison with 75,948.2 million euros for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 1.9%.The total value of exports, for the 11-month period from January to November 2024 amounted to 45,868.8 million euros in comparison with 47,278.3 million euros for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 3.0%.The deficit of the trade balance, for the 11-month period from January to November 2024 amounted to 31,510.5 million euros in comparison with 28,669.9 million euros for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 9.9%.
