LITHUANIA'S DECADE WITH THE EURO – PRICES AND PURCHASING POWER SHIFT
Lithuania marks ten years since adopting the euro in 2015.According to former central bank head Vitas Vasiliauskas, the transition met forecasted expectations. While Lithuania had already pegged its litas to the euro in 2022, the 2015 adoption gave the country a voice in eurozone monetary policy. The removal of currency exchange risk has lowered borrowing costs for everyone - the state, businesses, and individuals - enhancing our credibility, noted Vasiliauskas.
