CONSUMER-FACING SMES LAG IN DECARBONISATION AMIDST LOWER CUSTOMER DEMAND

Consumer-facing SMEs show less decarbonisation progress compared to B2B sectors due to perceived lower customer pressure, Bain & Company reported. These SMEs include retail trade, hotels and accommodations, restaurants and F&B, health and social services, food processing and/or packaging, and education sectors. Only 22% of consumer-facing SMEs are in the advanced and mid stages of their decarbonisation progress, compared to B2B sectors such as wholesale trade (28%), professional and business services (35%), and industrial and manufacturing (42%).   https://sbr.com.sg/markets/news/cotd-consumer-facing-smes-lag-in-decarbonisation-amidst-lower-customer-demand (ICE SINGAPORE)
