SAUDI PIF UNIT IN DEAL TO DEVELOP PRIVATE ISLAND AT RED SEA

Cruise Saudi, part of the Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund, has appointed PC Marine Services as the main contractor to develop a private island on the Red Sea tailored for cruise tourism. Slated to welcome visitors by December, this premium development will transform the island into an exclusive destination for cruise passengers. Facilities will include a welcome center, dining area, and a beach club with private villas and sunbeds, initially accommodating up to 2,000 guests. Designed to reflect Saudi culture, the island will offer unique experiences, becoming the first of its kind in the Red Sea. Cruise lines will make day stops, allowing visitors to enjoy the amenities or book various excursions. Barbara Buczek, Cruise Saudi’s Chief Destination Experiences Officer, highlighted the project’s significance in advancing Saudi’s cruise industry. “We look forward to welcoming cruise lines and their passengers to experience authentic Saudi hospitality, culture, and activities in the heart of the Red Sea,” she stated at a ceremony in Jeddah. PC Marine Services, known for projects like the Obhur Waterfront and cruise berth improvements, will lead the construction. CEO Adnan Alshareef expressed pride in contributing to Saudi’s marine infrastructure and tourism sector as part of Vision 2030. (ICE RIYADH)
