Kazakhstan will extend ban on LPG exports for another 6 months Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has published a draft order banning the export of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), propane and butane by road and rail for a period of 6 months, with some exceptions.The ban will not apply to exports by subsoil users operating under production sharing agreements (contracts) or subsoil use contracts, as well as to exports of products made of local feedstock produced by the Karachaganak project in accordance with the international agreements signed earlier and to transit transportation of products originating from and destined for third countries.According to the press service of the Energy Ministry, the ban on LPG exports is expected to be introduced from November 14, 2024.Kazakhstan has maintained the ban on LPG exports by road since 2017 to prevent the illegal export of affordable fuel intended for the domestic market.
