FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH BRAZIL
1- Free Trade Agreement with Brazil On July 8, 2024, Brazil ratified a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the PA, initially signed by the Mercosur trade bloc and Palestine in 2011. Uruguay has supported the deal, but it is unclear if other Mercosur members would follow suit. The FTA aims to eliminate customs barriers, streamline trade procedures, increase trade volume, and promote mutual investment. This FTA is expected to diversify Palestinian trade and enhance access to South American markets. The agreement’s impact will depend on effective implementation and the ability of Palestinian businesses to seize these new opportunities. (ICE AMMAN)
