HIGHER SUBSIDIES FOR ELECTRIC CARS
The government is preparing a new program to promote electric vehicle deployment and as part of the scheme, buyers will receive higher subsidies, including for second-hand electric cars, while according to the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the scheme will be launched once Poland receives dedicated funding under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. According to the assumptions, subsidies will amount to PLN30k-PLN40k and they will be available for mid-end electric cars as the price limit for subsidized cars will be PLN225k. Meanwhile, according the Automotive Market Research Institute IBRM SAMAR, currently full electric cars sold in Poland cost PLN250k-PLN260k on average, with the high price being the result of a high share of premium brands in EV sales.
