American Heart of Poland (AHP), the biggest network of cardiology, angiology and cardiosugery hospitals on the Polish market, a majority stake in which has been acquired by Gruppo San Donato, is to acquire 100 percent of shares in Scanmed, a leading private medical operator in Poland, from the Arbis Capital Partners fund, once the transaction has been cleared by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), and according to experts, the deal is worth PLN1bn. Commenting on the deal, AHP’s CEO Adam Szlachta notes that Scanmed is a natural complement to AHP’s organisational structure within the public healthcare framework oriented towards the coordinated treatment and rehabilitation of patients with lifestyle diseases.
