Import from EAEU countries to Kazakhstan decreased due to sanctions- Ministry of FinanceThe volume of imports into Kazakhstan from the EAEU countries has decreased due to sanctions and problems with logistics, Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic Dauren Temirbekov said.On Friday, during the government report on the republican budget execution for 2023 in the Majilis, Temirbekov informed that the annual plan for republican budget revenues for 2023 was fulfilled by 99.9%. With a plan of 19.1 trillion tenge, the budget received 19 trillion tenge.The deficit amounted to 101 billion tenge.“The main reasons for the failure to fulfill the plan for revenues are a decrease in import volumes from the EAEU countries by 9.3% or $1.79 billion due to problems with logistics and sanctions against Russia. Import from Russia import fell by 9.4% or $1.68 billion, and from the Republic of Belarus by 16.4%, or $148.8 million,” Temirbekov said.Also, according to him, the failure to fulfill the plan for revenues to the republican budget was affected by a decrease in prices for main export goods in 2023 compared to 2022 by 11.3% on the average, a decrease in the income of a number of large enterprises due to the reduced production, increased logistics costs due to the geopolitical situation; reduction of the ETP rate by 6.9%.The Vice Minister noted that at the end of 2023, Kazakhstan’s GDP growth was 5.1%. The state's social obligations were met in full. Budget revenues were received 99.9% in the amount of 19 trillion 296 billion tenge. Expenses amounted to 22 trillion 417 billion tenge or 99.6% of the planned. The budget deficit is 3 trillion 121 billion tenge or 2.6% of GDP. (ICE ALMATY)
