LEADING MINER REPORTS DISAPPOINTING RESULTS
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, the largest producer of high quality hard coking coal in the European Union, has reported that according to preliminary data, in Q1 of 2024 it generated sales revenue of a little over PLN3.4bn as well as a gross profit on sales of PLN298.1m and a net loss of PLN9.7m, compared with PLN4.46bn, PLN1.66bn and PLN1.27bn respectively in the year-earlier period. Given the company’s performance as well as the terms and conditions of loans received from the Polish Development Fund (PFR) and the financial shield for large companies, JSW’s Management Board recommended not to pay out a dividend for 2023.
