THINGS ARE STILL A BIT DIFFICULT FOR ONLINE STORES
Online retailers continue to be affected by the economic downturn and reduced consumer spending. Even large platforms are disappearing from the market, with examples of such moves including Comarch. E-commerce has got us used to double-digit growth rates in recent years and during the pandemic, it generated even significantly higher results. However, the trend reversed in 2023, partly as a result of the reference to the high base of the previous year. In addition, this has been compounded by the economic slowdown and high inflation, resulting in reduced consumer spending. It is still evident, with online retail sales at current prices falling 1.8 per cent in March year-on-year, according to data reported by the Central Statistical Office. (ICE VARSAVIA)
