Dutch VISCON to implement seedlings growing project in Kazakhstan The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Dutch company VISCON signed a memorandum of understanding, on construction of an automated center for the production of planting stock using artificial intelligence, the press service of the national company Kazakh Invest that oversees the attraction of foreign investment in Kazakhstan reported.The project is to be implemented in 2024-2026, the investment amount is 25 million euros with the production of 12 million seedlings per year.“The implementation of the project will improve the sustainability, quality and productivity of plant crops. The project will use artificial intelligence technologies and in vitro cultivation methods,” Kazakh Invest explains.It is also reported that the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has agreed with the Royal GD company to work on improvement of the veterinary system in Kazakhstan.“The project provides for the modernization of the veterinary system, which will ensure quality control of livestock products in accordance with international standards and create conditions for the export of domestic products to foreign markets,” the message states.In addition, the state inspection committee and the Dutch Naktuinbouw signed a document on improving the phytosanitary system and mutual support for joining the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV).The documents were signed in Astana with the support of the embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
