Kazakhstan’s energy ministry weighs “Energy AI Kazakhstan” platform for fuel and power sectorKazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov held a working meeting to discuss using artificial intelligence across the fuel and energy sector, the ministry said on Saturday.“Officials presented the ‘Energy AI Kazakhstan’ concept at the meeting. It aims to create a single digital environment for bringing AI into the sector’s production and management work . . . Participants went through the platform’s proposed architecture, what it can do and how the ministry and its agencies could use it,” the statement said. The solutions presented include early detection of fuel shortage risks, automated preparation and checking of reports, and industrial safety monitoring. The meeting gave particular attention to digital twins of energy facilities. Such tools can simulate production processes, analyze the condition of equipment, flag potential problems and test the effects of different scenarios before technical decisions are made. The proposed system would bring together industry knowledge bases, information systems and specialized AI agents, each handling a specific production or management task. One of the concept’s key principles is technological and data sovereignty for Kazakhstan, the statement said. Data, computing infrastructure and industry models would be kept in the country under the ministry’s control.Participants also discussed possible stages for the project: pilot tests on real industry data, an assessment of how well the solutions work, and then wider rollout of the tools that prove useful.
