INDONESIA SETS THREE TRADE STRATEGIES TO BOOST EXPORTS
Indonesia’s Trade Ministry has introduced three key strategies to strengthen exports and support economic growth under President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita agenda. Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the priorities are Domestic Market Protection, Export Market Expansion, and From Local to Global. The first strategy focuses on improving the competitiveness of Indonesian products and increasing promotion efforts to help local industries better compete with imports and meet domestic demand. The second strategy aims to expand export opportunities by negotiating trade agreements, reducing trade barriers, automating Certificates of Origin, and strengthening trade promotion activities. Indonesia currently has 25 trade agreements in force and is negotiating 13 more. Meanwhile, the From Local to Global initiative is designed to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) enter international markets through programs such as UMKM BISA Ekspor, Desa BISA Ekspor, MSME Partnerships, and Campuspreneur. Supported by Indonesian trade attachés in 33 countries, these programs facilitate business matching with overseas buyers and encourage entrepreneurship among university students to create future exporters and job creators.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7704/business-and-investment/indonesia-sets-three-trade-strategies-to-boost-exports (ICE GIACARTA)
