LITHUANIAN DRINKS MARKET SHIFTS TOWARDS NON-ALCOHOLIC AND FUNCTIONAL BEVERAGES

Lithuania’s drinks producers are adapting to changing consumer habits, as demand grows for non-alcoholic and functional beverages. According to Lithuania’s State Data Agency, in 2025 the average resident aged 15 or over consumed 10.16 litres of pure alcohol.The trend is affecting traditional beer and spirits producers, which are increasingly expanding their portfolios beyond alcoholic drinks. Market players report growing consumer interest in non-alcoholic beer, cocktails, sparkling and still wines, as well as soft drinks and functional products.According to NielsenIQ data cited by LRT, several alternative beverage categories recorded strong growth in 2025: vitamin-enriched drinks increased by 54%, kombucha by 33%, smoothies by 18%, while energy drinks grew by around 10%. The figures indicate a continuing shift in Lithuania’s beverage market towards healthier, low-alcohol and value-added drink categories. (ICE VARSAVIA)
