Lithuania has signed a cooperation agreement to develop a new film studio in Vilnius, with the aim of strengthening the country’s audiovisual sector and attracting larger international productions. The project is expected to support investment, create highly skilled jobs and reinforce Vilnius’ position in the Baltic and Nordic film markets.The new production infrastructure is planned to be developed by 2030, with the studio expected to include several film pavilions. The exact location, scale and financing of the project will be defined after a feasibility study and detailed planning procedures.The project highlights Lithuania’s growing ambition to attract international audiovisual productions and develop related services, including production infrastructure, technical equipment, post-production and creative industry partnerships.
