INDOENSIA: EAST JAVA IMPORTS RISE DRIVEN BY NON-OIL GOODS

East Java’s imports reached USD 10.39 billion from January–April 2026, up 7.31% year-on-year, according to BPS. The increase was fueled by non-oil imports, which rose 9.85% to USD 8.74 billion, while oil and gas imports fell 4.43%. Key growth came from fruit imports (+40.95%), jewelry (+18.49%), and food industry residues (+16.29%). Conversely, iron and steel imports dropped 8.51%.
