INDONESIA-GGGI TO MOBILIZE US$2 BILLION IN GREEN INVESTMENT BY 2030

Indonesia’s National Development Planning Ministry and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) are working together to mobilize US$2 billion in green investments by 2030 through the Green Indonesia Future Initiative (GIFT). This initiative emphasizes that sustainable development must balance current needs with long-term environmental protection and societal welfare. Since their partnership began in 2013, previous programs have helped reduce emissions by 183.54 million tons of CO₂, created over 271,000 green jobs, and mobilized around US$776.5 million in investments across sectors such as energy, urban development, and forestry. The upcoming GIFT phase (2026–2030) aims to more than double past achievements by introducing innovative financing models, supporting government policies, and expanding access to global funding. It will also strengthen policymakers’ capacity to integrate green growth into decision-making. The initiative is expected to boost green jobs, improve energy security, promote circular economy practices, and attract investment into impactful, sustainable projects that benefit both the economy and society.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/417660/indonesia-gggi-to-mobilize-us2-billion-in-green-investment-by-2030?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
