INDONESIA & SOUTH KOREA ADVANCE AI-POWERED HEALTHCARE COOPERATION

South Korea and Indonesia are deepening cooperation in AI-powered healthcare following a memorandum of understanding signed during President Prabowo Subianto’s recent state visit. In a virtual meeting on May 26, South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare outlined plans to use AI to expand access to medical services, particularly in underserved areas. These include an AI-driven telemedicine consultation model and AI-assisted chronic disease management, with pilot projects scheduled for Indonesia’s mountainous and island regions later this year. Both countries emphasized that AI technology can help overcome geographical barriers to healthcare. South Korea’s Health Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong highlighted the shared challenges of limited medical access in remote areas and described AI as a breakthrough solution. The partnership will also involve joint seminars and collaboration among hospitals, tech firms, and universities to strengthen frameworks for AI-based primary healthcare. This initiative reflects a broader effort to combine innovation with public health goals, aiming to improve medical equity and accelerate the commercialization of AI applications in healthcare.Source: https://en.vietnamplus.vn/indonesia-rok-advance-ai-powered-healthcare-cooperation-post343503.vnp (ICE GIACARTA)
