STELLANTIS TO DEVELOP NEW INDIA-MADE JEEP WITH TATA FOR THE WORLD
Stellantis has announced plans to develop a new Jeep model in India using a Tata Motors platform, further strengthening the two companies’ long-standing partnership in the country. The vehicle will be developed and assembled in India through the Stellantis-Tata joint venture facility and exported globally as part of Stellantis’ “FastLane 2030” strategy. The collaboration follows an MoU signed earlier in 2026 to explore joint opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations across domestic and international markets. The company aims to export these vehicles to over 50 countries and targets global sales of 100,000 localised vehicles by 2028 through partnerships with Tata Motors and Dongfeng. Stellantis also plans to launch 60 new models and 50 refreshes by the end of the decade, supporting its broader goal of exceeding €60 billion in cumulative vehicle and model sales over the next five years. The move further reinforces India’s growing role as a global automotive manufacturing and export hub. (ICE NEW DELHI)
