INDONESIA ESTABLISHES NEW STATE HOLDING TO OVERSEE INDUSTRIAL ESTATES

Indonesia has established a new holding company called Kawasan Industri Indonesia to centralize and professionalize the management of state-owned industrial estates. This move is part of a broader government strategy to simplify fragmented management structures and make the country more attractive to investors. According to Danantara Indonesia’s COO, Dony Oskaria, industrial estate operations were previously mixed with unrelated business activities, reducing focus and efficiency. The new holding company will specialize exclusively in managing these estates, aiming to improve integration, governance, and investment appeal. Under this restructuring, industrial estate assets previously managed within the Danareksa ecosystem will be transferred to the new entity, while Danareksa will focus on asset management. The transition is part of a larger state-owned enterprise reform program led by Danantara. The government aims to complete the legal restructuring by 2026, with full operations of Kawasan Industri Indonesia expected to begin in 2027, alongside efforts to modernize industrial clusters and reduce reliance on land sales as the main revenue model.Source: https://jakartaglobe.id/business/indonesia-establishes-new-state-holding-to-oversee-industrial-estates (ICE GIACARTA)
