THE GOVERNMENT PLANS TO RAISE UKRAINE’S AVERAGE ANNUAL GDP GROWTH RATE TO 6%
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has set a goal to increase the average growth rate of gross domestic product to 6% annually, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said, commenting on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement regarding the creation of a 15-year Economy of the Future strategy for Ukraine in cooperation with the World Bank. “This strategy is based on EU rules – first, building a competitive and investment-attractive economy with strong institutions and dynamic development of the private sector. This includes the development of defense technologies, energy, the agricultural sector, transport, machine building, IT and critical minerals,” Svyrydenko said. The strategy aims to ensure fiscal self-sufficiency and Ukrainian economic growth by attracting private capital to key areas, as well as for reconstruction. A separate block of the Economy of the Future is demographic recovery, particularly the return of 3.1 million Ukrainians from abroad. According to the prime minister, the main goal is to increase the average GDP growth rate to 6% per year, labor productivity from the current 1.3% to 5%, and the share of investment in GDP from the pre-war 16% to 24-30% annually.https://ubn.news/the-government-plans-to-raise-ukraines-average-annual-gdp-growth-rate-to-6/ (ICE KIEV)
