INDONESIA LOGS US$1.5 BILLION LOCAL CONTENT IN OIL & GAS

Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry reported a US$1.5 billion domestic component level (TKDN) commitment in upstream oil and gas as of April 2026, representing 62.95% of the total procurement cost of US$2.38 billion. Goods procurement contributed 45.74% to TKDN, while services made a higher contribution at 69.42%. Overall, services dominated procurement activity with a 72.29% share, compared to 27.71% for goods, highlighting the stronger local participation in service-related activities. These figures indicate steady progress in implementing TKDN policies and advancing local industry development. For projects overseen by Indonesia's upstream oil and gas regulator, SKK Migas, total contract values reached US$2.58 billion, with a cost component of US$2.35 billion and a local content commitment of US$1.48 billion (62.92%). The Industry Ministry noted that improvements in TKDN assessment and oversight, introduced through Ministerial Regulation No. 35 of 2025, have helped create a more predictable business climate and enhance the competitiveness of domestic oil and gas support industries, marking a strategic step toward strengthening local production capabilities.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/416569/indonesia-logs-us15-billion-local-content-in-oil-gas (ICE GIACARTA)
