INDONESIAN HANDICRAFT PRODUCTS GAIN INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION: GOVT

Indonesian handicraft SMEs supported by the Ministry of Industry have successfully attracted international buyers through their participation in global exhibitions, as part of ongoing efforts to expand market access. At the Home InStyle 2026 exhibition, three SMEs—Manamu (Bali), Kampoeng Anyaman (Central Java), and Koto Batu (Banten)—showcased their products and engaged with buyers from Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that such participation highlights the global competitiveness of Indonesian handicrafts and creates valuable opportunities for international collaboration. The exhibition generated tangible business prospects, with Kampoeng Anyaman receiving strong interest and sample requests from the U.S. and Abu Dhabi, with potential deals valued at around USD 19,235. Manamu also attracted buyers from several countries, opening discussions on distribution and market expansion. Supported by initiatives such as design development, capacity building, and international promotion, the government aims to strengthen SME competitiveness, leveraging positive global demand trends where ASEAN is expected to lead growth in the handicraft sector.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2430417/indonesian-handicraft-products-gain-international-attention-govt (ICE GIACARTA)
