Kazakhstan's retail trade grows 6.5% in first five monthsKazakhstan's retail trade volume grew by 6.5% year-on-year in January-May 2025, reaching 7.888 trillion tenge ($15.5 billion), the Bureau of National Statistics reported Thursday.The sales growth was led by a 7.7% increase in non-food products, which accounted for 71.3% of total retail turnover. Food sales rose 3.5%, representing 28.7% of the market.Retail inventories stood at 1.595 trillion tenge as of June 1, covering 61 days of sales.Almaty accounted for nearly one-third of national retail sales (31.8%), followed by Astana (13.2%).
