Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh highlighted that the local natural gas extracted from the Risha field is one of the country’s most significant energy resources. He emphasized the importance of turning challenges into opportunities, with a focus on increasing production to 418 million cubic feet per day by 2030, which will meet and exceed the Kingdom's gas needs for electricity generation and industrial use. During his patronage of the signing ceremony for the agreement to establish the National Advanced Natural Gas Company (Watani) — a partnership between Jopetrol - Jordanian Petroleum Products Marketing Company, and the Jordan Liquefied Gas Company — Kharabsheh stressed that the creation of Watani is in line with Jordan's strategic objectives to achieve energy security and enhance self-sufficiency through the development and utilization of national resources.
