WORLD BANK FORECASTS 2.5% GROWTH FOR JORDAN'S ECONOMY IN 25-26

The World Bank projects the Jordanian economy will grow by 2.5% in both 2025 and 2026, driven by a gradual recovery contingent on improved security conditions in the region. A report released on Wednesday, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Mamlaka, noted that Jordan has shown resilience to external shocks. However, the growth rate remains insufficient to significantly reduce unemployment, with average growth for the first nine months of 2024 standing at approximately 2.4%. Despite regional challenges, the report highlights that real GDP grew by 2.4% during the first three quarters of 2024. The industrial sector was the standout performer, showing a growth of 4.3% in the third quarter—the highest since the second quarter of 2011. (ICE AMMAN)
