World Bank downgrades Kazakhstan’s GDP growth forecast to 4.5% in 2025The World Bank (WB) projects Kazakhstan’s GDP growth at 4.5% in 2025 and 3.6% in 2026, according to Global Economic Prospects report in April.In its January report, the WB had forecasted the country’s economic growth at 4.7% for 2025 and 3.5% for 2026.In 2024, according to the WB's estimate, the country's GDP growth was 4%, slowing down compared to 5.1% in 2023.Meanwhile, according to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country’s GDP grew by 5.8% year-on-year in January-March 2025.The National Bank of Kazakhstan forecasts economic growth of 4.2–5.2% in 2025–2026. The Asian Development Bank, in its April review, downgraded its 2025 GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan to 4.9% (from 5.1% in September 2024) while maintaining its 2026 projection at 4.1%. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently lowered its 2025 GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan to 4.9% (from 5.5%) and raised its 2026 forecast to 4.3% (from 4.1%). (ICE ALMATY)
