An international forum aimed at attracting foreign investment to the economy of Turkmenistan will be held in Kuala Lumpur on April 23-24, TDH reports.As Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported at a government meeting, about 300 delegates from 30 countries have already registered to participate in the event.Among the confirmed participants are: Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC); Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA); Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA); Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF); and Atsuko Hirose, Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat.Preparations for the forum are ongoing, and meetings of members of the Turkmen delegation with representatives of foreign companies interested in establishing cooperation are also planned.
