BAHRAIN MARKS WORLD HEALTH DAY 2025

The Ministry of Health held a ceremony to mark World Health Day 2025 under the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.”The ceremony was held in the presence of Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, alongside senior health officials, representatives from relevant institutions, and medical professionals.In her remarks, the Minister of Health underscored that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, prioritises public health as a cornerstone of sustainable development and societal well-being.She emphasised that maternal and child health is a central pillar of Bahrain’s national health strategy, which promotes integrated care from early life stages to ensure long-term wellness for future generations.The Minister highlighted the sector’s ongoing efforts, led by the Supreme Council of Health, to deliver preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services, while advancing health system development and public health awareness to ensure high-quality care for all.She described maternal and child health as a critical investment in building a strong society.The Minister highlighted Bahrain’s holistic approach that includes premarital screenings, prenatal and postnatal care, regular child check-ups, vaccination adherence, and the promotion of breastfeeding and proper nutrition.The Minister also underscored Bahrain’s commitment to innovation in healthcare through investment in digital solutions and modern technologies, enhancing service quality and sustainability. She noted that this year’s theme reflects Bahrain’s belief that a healthy beginning lays the foundation for a prosperous future.The programme included an awareness video highlighting key maternal and child health services and updates on the national immunisation programme, particularly vaccines for pregnant women and children. The event also featured awareness activities aimed at promoting early health interventions and healthy lifestyles across the community. (ICE Doha)
