Kazakhstan set to ramp up gas production in 2024Kazakhstan aims to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of gas in 2024, according to the targets set by the Ministry of Energy together with QazaqGaz JSC until 2030."The gas industry's growth is evident from the steady increase in gas production in recent years. As per the forecast gas balance, gas production is projected to reach 60.456 billion cubic meters in 2024," according to the Ministry.In 2023, the country produced 59.063 billion cubic meters, with significant contributions from fields like Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (8.813 billion cubic meters), and others.The plan for 2024 entails a 2.4% increase in gas production.Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan projects contribute over 85% of the country's gas output, with Tengiz leading at 27%, followed by Karachaganak at 38%, and Kashagan at 20%.
